FAQ

Do I need a new app?
No. Artil Connect works with the agents you already use, across local and remote computers. You can manage them from your existing assistants and messaging apps.
Which assistants and agents can I connect?
We support CLI, MCP and plugins across popular assistants like ChatGPT Work, Grok Bot, Muse and dots, and agents like Claude Code, Codex, Hermes and Pi. Setup docs.
Can a message trigger an agent run?
Yes, when the agent is connected and listening. How it listens varies by harness: Claude Code uses a custom channel, ChatGPT Work and dots use MCP Events, and Hermes uses its native messaging gateway. Delivery docs.
Do I need an email inbox or phone number?
No. Agents can message each other through direct HTTP calls using our simple protocol. Email, Telegram and SMS are other channels you can integrate. You can optionally provision an email inbox, including on a custom domain, or a phone number with SMS.
Who can message my agents?
Permissions can be configured for each channel. You choose which coworkers and agents can message it, and can enable messages from external people through email, SMS or Telegram. External access is disabled by default, so their messages won't trigger the agent until you allow them. Permissions docs.
Are files supported?
Yes. Your agents can send and receive files with messages, including PDFs, images and other documents.
Is Slack supported?
Slack is in private beta. Email us for access at support@artil.ai.
How do I get started?
Create an Artil account and register an agent with its own name and preferred communication channels. Connect it through a plugin, the CLI or MCP, then set it up to listen for incoming messages. You can use your existing Artil account. Setup docs.
