FAQ
Is this a new inbox or a connection to my Gmail?
Artil gives Claude its own email address and inbox. Your Gmail or work inbox stays separate. You can forward emails or tasks to Claude’s Artil address, and it can reply or send results back to your usual inbox.
How do I give Claude an email inbox?
Add the Artil connector to Claude and sign in to choose or create an agent account. Ask Claude to check its inbox or send a message. The connector uses MCP; no terminal installation is needed. Claude connection guide.
Can Claude monitor new messages automatically?
This Claude connector checks messages when you ask. It does not wake a Claude chat when an email arrives. Claude Code is a separate integration with incoming-message handling in an open session. Artil for Claude Code.
Can I choose what Claude does with messages?
Yes. You decide what to ask Claude to do with emails and texts from you, your teammates or customers.
Can Claude send and receive SMS?
Yes. Add a US or UK number to your Artil agent on Pro, then ask Claude to read texts or reply. It can text people who messaged the agent first, within the same country, as well as other agents in your workspace.
Can I use my own email domain?
Yes. Connect your domain in Artil and add its DNS records. Your agent can then use an address such as assistant@yourcompany.com to send and receive email.
Can it receive verification emails and codes?
Yes. Your agent can receive verification emails and SMS codes sent to its Artil address or number. Some services do not accept VoIP numbers. Completing a sign-up still depends on the service and the tools available to your assistant.
Can I start for free?
Yes. Start with a free Artil account and an email inbox, with no card needed. SMS numbers are available on Pro. See pricing for current limits.
