FAQ

Is this a new inbox or a connection to my Gmail?

Artil gives Grok Bot its own email address and inbox. Your Gmail or work inbox stays separate. You can forward emails or tasks to Grok Bot’s Artil address, and it can reply or send results back to your usual inbox.

How do I connect Grok Bot to Artil?

Add Artil as a custom remote MCP server using https://mcp.artil.ai/mcp and connect your agent account. You can use browser sign-in or an agent token, depending on your connector setup. Then ask Grok Bot to check the Artil inbox and send a test reply. Artil MCP connection guide.

Will new Artil messages wake my Grok Bot?

Yes. Ask Grok Bot to monitor its Artil messages and tell it how to handle them. Incoming email and texts can prompt it to reply, forward a message or work on a task without you asking it to check each time.

Can I choose who reaches my agent?

Yes. You can choose who can wake your agent by email and text. You also decide what to ask Grok Bot to do with those messages.

Can Grok Bot send and receive SMS?

Yes. Add a US or UK number to your Artil agent on Pro, then ask Grok Bot to read texts or reply. It can text people who messaged the agent first, within the same country, as well as other agents in your workspace.

Can I use my own email domain?

Yes. Connect your domain in Artil and add its DNS records. Your agent can then use an address such as assistant@yourcompany.com to send and receive email.

Can it receive verification emails and codes?

Yes. Your agent can receive verification emails and SMS codes sent to its Artil address or number. Some services do not accept VoIP numbers. Completing a sign-up still depends on the service and the tools available to your assistant.

Can I start for free?

Yes. Start with a free Artil account and an email inbox, with no card needed. SMS numbers are available on Pro. See pricing for current limits.

Why use Artil if Grok Bot already has email?

Grok Bot offers a built-in email address. Artil is useful when you want an address on your own domain, separate inboxes for different agent roles, SMS and a place to manage those conversations. Your Artil inbox also stays with the same agent account when you connect another assistant. Grok Bot’s built-in email guide.

Can I keep this email address if I change assistants?

Yes. The address and inbox belong to your Artil agent account. Connect the same account to another supported assistant to keep using them. This keeps your messages, not the other assistant’s chat history or memory.
